Frequently Asked Questions
-
Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves the gentle insertion of very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body. It works by supporting the body’s natural healing processes, improving circulation, regulating the nervous system, and restoring balance.
-
Acupuncture supports a wide range of conditions, including pain, stress and anxiety, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, hormonal imbalances, headaches, immune support, and overall wellness. It is often used as both preventative care and support during times of imbalance.
-
Acupuncture stimulates the body’s intrinsic ability to heal by encouraging healthy circulation, calming the nervous system, and supporting communication between bodily systems. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, it works with the body as a whole.
-
Most people experience little to no pain. You may feel a brief pinch or a dull, heavy, or warm sensation, which often indicates the body is responding to treatment. Many patients find acupuncture deeply relaxing.
-
Yes. When performed by a licensed practitioner, acupuncture is very safe. Single-use, sterile needles are always used, and treatments are adapted to your individual needs.
-
Your first appointment includes a comprehensive intake, time to discuss your health history and concerns, and a personalized treatment. The session is unhurried and designed to support relaxation as well as healing.
-
This varies depending on your condition, goals, and overall health. Some people notice changes after one session, while others benefit from a series of treatments. Generally, chronic conditions tend to require more care while acute conditions are resolved more quickly. Your practitioner will discuss a recommended plan tailored to you.
-
Eat a light meal beforehand and arrive well hydrated. Dress in loose-fitting attire, if possible. After treatment, we recommend rest, gentle movement, and allowing time for your body to integrate the session.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that works by stimulating the body’s natural repair process. A device with tiny, sterile needles are used to create micro-injuries that signal the body to create more collagen and elastin, which are the key proteins responsible for smooth, firm and healthy skin. Over time, this process helps the skin repair, strengthen and renew itself from within.
Microneedling is used to treat a wide variety of skin conditions. It supports the skin’s natural renewal process and can improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, uneven texture, enlarged pores, pigmentation, sun damage, and overall tone and firmness for a smoother, more resilient complexion. Microneedling also treats hair loss, post-op scarring and stretch marks.
-
Typically, improvement is noticed after 3 monthly treatments. A series may take 6-10 treatments depending on the severity of the condition.
-
Please arrive with a clean face. Microneedling over an area that has had botox recently (within 2 weeks) is not recommended. Avoid Retin-A products/treatments 24 hours prior to treatment. Avoid prolonged sun exposure 24 hours prior and keep in mind that a microneedling treatment cannot be administered to sunburned skin. After the treatment, it is important to keep your face clean and avoid the sun. You will be given a custom made serum to use exclusively for the following 24 hours. Don’t workout or go to a gym for 24 hours post treatment.
You will be given a detailed list of instructions at the time of treatment.
